If you have a Facebook Page with likes (not the same as a Facebook profile with friends), you can have an Amazon store as one of the tabs on your Page.
This means that, if your own artistic products are sold on Amazon, you can also sell these directly on a Facebook Page via the Amazon store option.
Or perhaps you sell handmade sweaters made by others and these sweaters are available on Amazon. You can then sell these directly on a Facebook Page via an Amazon store.
My Miller Mosaic LLC partner Yael K. Miller figured out the steps to getting an Amazon store on a Facebook Page, and you can see an example she built at the Phyllis Zimbler Miller author Facebook Page Amazon store.
How do you make money? If you are selling your own products, you can get both the Amazon associate percentage as well as the percentage of the actual product price that you get after Amazon takes its cut. If you are selling other people’s products, you get the Amazon associate percentage on the purchases.
How do you get started?
First you need an associate account at Amazon, which you can get at https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/
Then sign in at https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/network/main.html and click on “aStore” on the nav bar.
From there the steps are not as easy as one would like, but basically:
Click on “Add a Category Page”
Change category name, such as to: My Books on Amazon
“Add products” (you can rearrange the order manually)
The return to “Create aStore Pages” and click “Continue” to “Color and Design” to choose options for your Amazon store.
Click “Continue” to “Sidebar Widgets” and choose your options.
Click “Finish & Get Link” and choose “Embed my store using an inline frame”
Then copy link (change width to 100%) and go to your Facebook Page and use the “Static HTML: iFrame Tabs” app to create a customized Facebook Page tab.
Here is an important tip from Yael: When you add a product to your store, you can click on the photo to add copy in addition to the automatic copy supplied by Amazon. If you later want to edit the copy you added, you have to click on “add products” to get to the screen where you can edit. Although this is currently a rather cumbersome process, the opportunity to have an Amazon store right on a Facebook Page can be incredible. Try it and see what you think.
